Uppdraget från Tradebanco var att utveckla en genomgripande designuppdatering av hygiensortimentet Gahns förpackningar, samla produktportföljen och förbereda för ett utökat sortiment. Varumärket är ett av Sveriges äldsta inom segmentet och har funnits sedan 1867, med fabrik i Uppsala. Man ville nu addera nya värden med anspelning på sitt ursprung, lyfta kvalitetskänslan och attrahera nya kunder på både den svenska, finska och brittiska marknaden.

Med tre språk på relativ liten yta lät vi typografin bli en tydlig del av formen som hålls samman av en nyframtagen logotyp med en illustration av den gamla fabriken. Typografiskt en återgång till ursprunget i en moderniserad kontext. Särskillnaden uppnås med de tydliga färgblock som varje tvålförpackning utgör. Krämerna å sin sida följer samma designmanér för att hålla samman sortimentet, men är för att särskilja sig som produktgrupp matt vita.

The company Tradebanco assigned us to develop a thorough design update of the packaging of their hygiene assortment Gahns and collect their portfolio with the ability to include new products. Within the segment, the brand Gahns is one of the oldest in Sweden and has been running their factory in Uppsala since 1867. Now they wanted to add new values and lift their long history and Swedish heritage, highlight the quality and attract new buyers on both the Swedish, Finnish and British market.

Three languages on relatively small packages led us to let the typography be a part of the design, kept together with a newly developed logotype including an illustration of the original factory building. Typographically going back to the very first logotype, placed within a modernised context. Shelf impact is created by using colour blocks which at the same time functions as distinctions between each product. The creams follow the same design, keeping the assortment together, but in matte white to communicate another kind of usage area.
